National Pilots License

The National Pilots License (NPL) is a Part 62 license and is administered by the Recreation Aviation Administration South Africa (RAASA). The National Pilots License is offered for Weight shift microlight, Controlled Microlight Gyrocopters and Sports Aircraft 450-600kg (LSA).

At Light Sport Aviation Training we offer training toward LSA NPL on our Jabiru J120 and J470 aircraft which fall into this category.

Requirements to obtain a NPL
1.Class 4 Medical
2.30 Hours Dual Instruction
3.10 Hours Solo Instruction
4.Restricted Radio License
